PARENTS AS TEACHERS
Hollister Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a free, early childhood education and family support program available to families in the Hollister School District—from pregnancy through kindergarten entry. Our vision is that all children will learn, grow, and develop to realize their full potential, and our mission is to provide the information, support, and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.
Certified parent educators offer personalized home visits, providing age-appropriate child development guidance, parenting support, and tools to help families observe and better understand their child’s growth.
We also provide annual developmental screenings to assess each child’s language, cognitive, motor, social-emotional, and physical development, including vision and hearing checks.
Our program features:
-
Quarterly Family Group Connections – engaging parent-child activities that foster learning and offer a supportive space to explore parenting topics.
-
Weekly Playgroups – opportunities for children to participate in gross motor and social activities in a fun, interactive environment.
-
A Lending Library – offering a wide selection of children's books and parenting resources.
-
A Resource Network – connecting families with valuable community services and support.
Parents as Teachers is here to support, guide, and walk alongside families during these foundational early years.
