Athletics & Activities

Hollister Athletics & Activities

The Hollister School District recognizes interscholastic activities as an integral part of the school’s total education program and therefore provides a wide variety of activities to help keep students engaged and connected and contribute to the development of good citizenship. The district strives to provide opportunities for every student to find an activity of interest that will engage them and get them plugged in with their peers.

Hollister is a member of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) and the Mid-Lakes Conference.

At Hollister Early Childhood Center and Hollister Elementary School, students can begin participation in athletics through Youth Sports and in activities through Cub Choir (elementary only).

Upon entering Hollister Middle School, students are given the opportunity to expand upon opportunities for various athletics and activities, which allow them to explore programs they may find a desire to continue or expand upon once they are students at Hollister High School.

Physicals

A pre-participation form is required every year, and a physical is required every two years for participation in any middle school or high school sports activity and marching band. Youth football participants also need a yearly sports physical from third grade through sixth grade. For questions, contact Athletic & Activities Director, Mike Wilson, the band director, or the individual sports coach.

Admission to Home Athletic Events

Admission to regular-season home athletic events is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Adults age 62 and older are free.

Youth Sports Admission Prices

Hollister Athletic Hall of Fame

  • Hollister has a deep tradition with State Champions, State Qualifiers, State Placers, All-Selections, and numerous other accolades that have been awarded to individuals and teams over the years. At Hollister, we have a large number of players, coaches, and contributors who have been a part of our great athletic tradition. These individuals and teams have been a great source of pride to our community, and we would like the opportunity to recognize them.  We at Hollister High School would also love our community's input in this process.

  • Nominations will be collected between October 1st and May 1st of each school year. Committee members will meet twice a year to review nominations and vote. No more than two individuals will be inducted in a given year, and a maximum of one team per year.  We will then recognize our new Hall of Fame class each year at halftime of one of our early-season home football games. All nominees will be kept on the ballot for three years. If they have not been voted into the Hall of Fame after three years, they will be removed from the ballot and will need to be nominated again for future consideration.
